Medusa

Medusa from the greek mythology, a woman from a culture of wars. This is something that I can relate as an Israeli woman. In the greek culture the men's body was superior, was adored, because it protects the country, there were, and still are cultures that are all about the heroes . Women have other purposes for their bodies, and they were treated like a disfigured form of a man. When Medusa was raped by Poseidon (A rapist in the greek mythology is always a great man, kings and gods mostly) she was punished by Athena. Athena is a masculine goddess, she is also Queen bee, a woman that got a high place that mistreat other women, a woman that a male dominated society needs, because it's always easier to degrade someone from the other side when you can make someone from the other side to do it. Athena punished Medusa and turn her to a hideous monster that people can't look at, if people look at her, they turn into stone. In the end, Perseus, another legendary hero (That was born from rape, like all great heroes), decapitates Medusa, all by Athena's instructions.

I see a pattern that is still happening, men turn against women in many ways, some violent and brutal and most are sophisticated, like using women against other women, lying and manipulating religion and what the gods say in order to cause damage to women. By the way, Medusa is known to us as a monster, because this kind of stories are told from a man's voice. It began before so many years and we still have roots of it planted in our society, and most people don't even ask questions.
